Happen Inc Website Redesign
Happen Inc. is a nonprofit organization that connects children and families through creative programs and community events. Working as part of a team, we redesigned the organization's website to improve navigation, accessibility, and the overall user experience, making it easier for visitors to discover programs, register for events, and volunteer.
ROLE
PROBLEM
After evaluating the existing website, our team identified key usability issues through heuristic analysis and user research. Using these insights, we redesigned the site's information architecture, navigation, and interface to create a more intuitive, accessible, and user-centered experience that better supports Happen Inc.'s mission.
RESULTS
How It Started
The project began with researching Happen Inc.'s mission and evaluating its existing website to better understand the needs of its users. Through website analysis, heuristic evaluation, and user research, we identified key pain points related to navigation, accessibility, and information organization. These insights became the foundation for the redesign.

Process
Using insights from my research, we benchmarked accessible and well-designed websites, including GitHub and Oklahoma Contemporary, to identify effective navigation patterns, layouts, and accessibility features. Then, we translated these findings into sketches and wireframes, iterating through prototypes and usability testing to refine the experience. To ensure the redesign met user needs, we developed personas that guided key design decisions and helped create a website that aligned with users' goals and expectations.

In Conclusion
By the end of the project, our team created a fully interactive prototype that brought our research and design decisions to life. This experience showed me how user-centered design can completely transform a digital experience and highlighted the importance of accessibility in creating inclusive, intuitive interfaces. Throughout the project, I strengthened my skills in UX/UI design, user research, wireframing, prototyping, and designing with users' needs at the forefront.
